Robert Cox, Marketing Manager for Adaptec's Storage Solutions Group, discusses Adaptec's new Ultra320 SCSI ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit). This new chip bolsters data transfer rates and minimizes the overhead of handling data and commands under the Ultra320 SCSI protocol. Adaptec's new family of Ultra320 SCSI controllers uses this chip to deliver 320 megabyte-per-second performance for everything from workstations to high-end enterprise computers.
